Pacifica Graduate Institute's Accreditation Statement
Pacifica Graduate Institute offers a premier Ph.D. program in clinical psychology, which is rooted in the traditions of depth psychology. Pacifica Graduate Institute has been regionally accredited by Western Association of Schools and Colleges Accrediting Commission for Senior Colleges and Universities (WASC) since 1997. In 2010, WASC reaffirmed Pacifica's regional accreditation through spring 2018. Pacifica remains committed to seeking APA accreditation and continues our self-study process in response to feedback and consultation with the American Psychological Association (APA). Even before this process is completed, graduates of Pacifica's Clinical Psychology Program have wide-ranging opportunities to practice. As of December 2010, according to an in-house study of states and graduate schools where students have graduated, nearly 80% of U. S. states accept regional accreditation as compliance with requirements for state licensure, without APA accreditation.
Prospective students with questions about licensure requirements during the admissions process should contact the Office of Admissions at 805.969.3626, ext.304.
