Trainee Resources

Welcome to these Traineeship Resource Pages. Feel free to browse and become familiar with the guidelines and procedures for completing the traineeship requirement. Please note that the Traineeship Site Directories have been updated with current opportunities for students in search of a Traineeship site.

As you may be aware the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) recently announced Senate Bill 33, signed by Governor Schwarzenegger. This bill makes a number of changes to M.F.T. supervised experience requirements for hours earned on or after January 1st, 2010. The changes will affect all students who either reside in California and/or will seek California licensure. Please click on the "Important BBS Changes Effective 1/1/2010" link for more information.

Current Students: To support your professional development as you learn to become an effective psychotherapist, a traineeship in a fieldwork setting is required during the second year of graduate study at Pacifica Graduate Institute. The traineeship becomes an integral part of the Clinical Practice sequence of courses and enrollment in Clinical Practice is contingent upon having an approved traineeship. Course lectures, experiential exercises, and assignments are grounded in the traineeship experience.
