Pacifica's Shuttle Service

Because of Santa Barbara County's land use requirements, Pacifica is restricted regarding the number of cars parked on campus.  All prospective students attending a one-day program or an Information Meeting are required to park at the Best Western Carpinteria Inn (directions below) and call Pacifica's Shuttle for transportation to the campus.  The receptionist at the Best Western will call Pacifica's shuttle for you, or you may call the shuttle directly. The phone number is 805-896-1887 or 805-896-1888 (local only); please allow one-half hour transportation time once you arrive at the Best Western.

Transportation from Santa Barbara Airport

The Santa Barbara Airport is approximately 20 miles from the Best Western Carpinteria Inn. SuperRide (805-683-9636) provides shuttle service.Taxi service is also available. Rose Cab (805-564-2600) and Santa Barbara Cab (805-968-6868) often offer special rates if reservations are made well in advance and Pacifica is mentioned as your destination (via the Best Western).

Transportation from Los Angeles Airport

The Los Angeles International Airport is approximately 90 miles from the Inn. The Santa Barbara Airbus provides bus transfer service to a central location in Carpinteria (International House of Pancakes Restaurant). One of the above taxi services can be taken from IHOP to Best Western Carpinteria Inn. The one-way cost is $30 or $60 round trip when reservations are made at least 24 hours in advance. Driving Directions

From South:Take Hwy 405 North to Hwy 101 North.When you reach Carpinteria, take the Santa Monica Rd exit and turn right at the stop sign. Turn right again at the corner of Santa Ynez and Via Real, go over the freeway bridge, and continue to the signal lights.The Inn will be on your left at the corner of Santa Ynez and Carpinteria Ave.

From North: Take Hwy 101 South approximately 10 miles past Santa Barbara to the Reynolds Ave exit and continue to the stop sign. The Inn will be on your right at the corner of Carpinteria Ave and Santa Ynez Ave.

Pacifica has designed a unique one-day program to give prospective students a comprehensive introduction and orientation to the unique educational features of the school.  The full day includes a continental breakfast and buffet lunch; characteristic classroom presentations by core-faculty; an alumni panel featuring graduates from each of the four programs, faculty led program-specific information meetings (choice of 2); admissions and financial aid presentations; a learning resources overview; and tours of the Joseph Campbell and Marija Gimbutas Library.

The One-Day Program is available on select dates throughout the year and requires advance registration (click here for a schedule). The registration fee for the day (9 AM to 6:30 PM) is $95 and includes a continental breakfast, buffet lunch, and 3.5 hours of continuing education units. Information Meetings

Throughout the year each of Pacifica's Academic Departments sponsors free Information Meetings to acquaint prospective students with the various degree programs.  Each meeting is led by a core-faculty member and features a specific degree program. The one-hour meetings are designed to provide information on the curriculum and educational requirements of the scheduled degree program while giving an overview of the school's mission and perspective. Space is limited so please make your reservation as soon as possible. A mandatory free shuttle is provided for transportation to the campus from the Best Western in Carpinteria.
