The introductory program provides an excellent opportunity to:

  • Experience the unique interdisciplinary curriculum in characteristic classroom
    presentations
  • Learn more about the fields of Depth, Counseling, and Clinical Psychology and Mythological Studies
  • Explore the grounds and resources available at Pacifica’s Lambert Road Campus

The full day includes a continental breakfast and buffet lunch; representative classroom presentations by core faculty and special guest faculty-in-residence; an alumni panel featuring graduates from each of the four programs; faculty led, program-specific information meetings; admissions and financial aid presentations; a learning resources overview; and time to visit the Joseph Campbell and Marija Gimbutas Library and Pacifica Graduate Institute Bookstore.

The one-day program is available on select dates throughout the year and requires advance registration.

The Introductions will be held at Pacifica's Lambert Road Campus. The campus is located approximately 10 miles south of Santa Barbara. Please note that all visitors to Pacifica's Lambert Road Campus must park at the nearby Best Western Carpinteria Inn and ride Pacifica's complimentary shuttle to and from campus.

To facilitate your stay, Pacifica has reserved a block of rooms at the Best Western Carpinteria Inn. Special rates are $85 per night plus tax. To make a reservation, call the Best Western at 805.684.0473 and identify yourself as a participant in Pacifica's Intro. Other arrangements can be made via one of the following services. Travel
The Santa Barbara Airport (SBA) is approximately 18 miles north and the Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) is approximately 90 miles south of Pacifica. Both airports have shuttle service between the airport and Santa Barbara or Carpinteria. Information on ground transportation will be included with your confirmation letter.

Registration, Cancellation, and Scholarships
A confirmation letter with detailed travel and Pacifica shuttle information will be sent upon receipt of your registration. Click here if you would like to register online. We encourage you to register early. In order to ensure a quality experience for participants, enrollment is limited.

A limited number of partial scholarships are available to those who find it prohibitive to pay the full cost. To apply, send a letter of request to the Public Programs Department with your registration. You will be contacted, and if accepted, payment arrangements can be made.

To obtain a refund, send a written request postmarked no later than 15 days prior to the event. The fee, less a $25 processing fee will be refunded.

Continuing Education Credit
Three Continuing Education Hours are available for RNs through the California Board of Registered Nurses (provider #CEP 7177). The hours are also applicable to MFTs and LCSWs (provider #PCE 2278) as required by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences. Pacifica Graduate Institute is recognized by the NBCC (provider #5436) to offer continuing education for National Certified Counselors. We adhere to NBCC continuing education guidelines.
