Counseling Psychology Open House for Winter Enrollment
The December 7th Open House welcomes prospective students who are interested in learning more about Pacifica’s Masters in Counseling Psychology Degree Program and Winter Enrollment. The event offers an introduction to the distinctive educational features of the Institute.
Pacifica is an accredited graduate school offering degrees in Clinical Psychology, Counseling Psychology, the Humanities, and Mythological Studies. The Institute has two beautiful campuses nestled between the foothills and the Pacific Ocean in Santa Barbara. All of Pacifica’s degree programs are offered through low-residential learning sessions that take into account vocational and life commitments. Students come to Pacifica from diverse backgrounds in pursuit of an expansive array of academic, professional, and personal goals.
This Open House provides an excellent opportunity to:
- Learn how to navigate the Winter enrollment process.
- Hear from Pacifica alumni about their experiences and career outcomes.
- Explore the grounds of both campuses with a guided tour.
- Learn more about the admissions process & financial aid for Winter enrollment.
- Talk with Admissions, Guest Services, Student Services, Financial Aid, and the Registrar
- Explore the grounds of Pacifica’s two campuses—the Lambert Road Campus and the Ladera Lane Campus.
- Tour the Joseph Campbell Archives and the Research Library.
- Visit Pacifica’s bookstores and libraries.
- Engage in ongoing dialogue and community exchange throughout the day with faculty and alumni.
The $20 registration fee includes all of the day’s activities and lunch.

Jemma Elliot, MA, LMFT, LPCC, is Program Co-Chair and Core Faculty for Pacifica Graduate Institute’s M.A. Counseling Psychology Program. She supports administrative, curricular, and developmental aspects of the Counseling Program, as well as teaches both research and clinical courses in the program. Jemma has a clinical focus on adoption and separation trauma, and has provided trainings and spoken on panels to advance the understanding of the needs of children and families on the adoption spectrum throughout Los Angeles County. She also has a special interest in working with PTSD from a depth psychological perspective, and in witnessing and hosting the extrasensory gifts and energetic awakenings that often arise in clients after traumatic experiences. Jemma is a Clinical Member of the California Association for Marriage and Family Therapists, as well as a member of Psi Chi. She has a great love for the arts, and is a long-time advocate for farmed animal and greyhound rescue and rehabilitation.
Matthew Bennett, PsyD, is a licensed clinical psychologist, lecturer, and administrator with experience in public sector mental health and substance abuse treatment. He has broad experience in program development. He was formerly founder and first Director of Training for the Ventura County Behavioral Health Pre-Doctoral Internship in Clinical Psychology and Chair-Elect of the Psychology Department at Ventura County Medical Center in Ventura, California. His research interests include personality disorders, comparative personality theory, and internet applications for mental health. Dr. Bennett is also a returned Peace Corps volunteer (“Poland III, 1991-1993”).

Attendees may purchase extra tickets for their guests on the registration form.
Lunch on the day of the event is provided to encourage ongoing dialogue and community exchange throughout the day. Pacifica’s caterers provide healthy meals for our attendees and their guests. No other meal services are available.
Major airlines provide service into the Los Angeles International Airport located 90 miles south of Santa Barbara and into the Santa Barbara Municipal Airport, approximately 18 miles north of the Campus. Pacifica does not offer transportation services to or from the airport. Please download our Travel and Hotel Information Guide for information about ground transportation to and from Santa Barbara.
