Toby is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with experience in teaching graduate-level courses for 23 years and doing clinical supervision for 18 years. She teaches Basic Introduction to Working with Couples at Pacifica Graduate Institute. Toby previously taught at Antioch University. Her career includes 28 years in private practice. Toby has taught many supervision courses for the California Division of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy. She is an AAMFT Approved Supervisor and a CAMFT Certified Supervisor. Toby is the author of multiple articles that focus on clinical supervision as well as couple and family work. She is coauthor of the following books: Doing Couple Therapy: Integrating Theory with Practice, 2002 and The Couple Is Telling You What You Need to Know: Couple-Directed Therapy in a Multicultural Context, 2005. Toby is a Clinical Fellow of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy, Clinical Member of the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists, and the Santa Barbara Chapter of CAMFT.
