Maura Tousignant, L.M.F.T., is a depth-oriented and somatic psychotherapist and teaches as adjunct faculty in the M.A. Counseling Psychology program at Pacifica. She is based in Santa Monica and has a private practice with a focus on complex trauma, anxiety, grief, and relationship issues. She trained in Hakomi mindful somatic psychotherapy and Brainspotting, and her clinical work integrates Jungian, psychodynamic, attachment, mindfulness, and somatic approaches. She attained her master’s degree in Counseling Psychology: Marriage and Family Therapy, Professional Clinical Counseling, and Depth Psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute, and as undergraduate, she studied as an Echols Scholar at the University of Virginia for her B.A. in Comparative Literature, Middle Eastern Studies, and Dance. Her research interests include the intersection between psychological growth and spiritual practice, cross-cultural communication, and experiences of embodiment in psychotherapy.
