Ronald A. Alexander, PhD, MFT, SEP (Somatic Experiencing Practitioner) is a psychotherapist, leadership coach, and clinical trainer in the fields of Somatic Trauma Healing Therapies, Mindfulness Meditation, Transformational Leadership and Core Creativity. As the Executive Director of the OpenMind Training® Institute he draws upon his extensive, pioneering background in Holistic Health, Behavioral Medicine, Self Psychology, Gestalt Therapy, Somatic Experiencing, Ericksonian Mind-Body Healing Therapies and Eastern Wisdom Traditions. He is  the author of the widely acclaimed book, Wise Mind, Open Mind and Chapter 33 co author of Mindfulness Based Psychotherapy: Mindfulness, Trauma and Trance published 2014 in the Wiley Blackwell Handbook on Mindfulness and Psychotherapy.   His unique method combines ancient wisdom teachings with psychology and creative thinking into a comprehensive integrated, mind-body program. This system supports personal, clinical, and corporate excellence and growth. Alexander has been a leading pioneer in the fields of Mindfulness Based Mind-Body Therapies, Gestalt Therapy, Somatic Experiencing, Ericksonian Mind-Body Therapies, Holistic Psychology, Leadership Coaching, Integrative and Behavioral Medicine since 1970. He is a long time extension faculty member of the UCLA Departments of Humanities, Social Sciences, and Entertainment, a lecturer in the David Geffen School of Medicine and an adjunct faculty member at Pacifica Graduate Institute and Pepperdine Universities. He is a lifetime associate member of the American Psychological Association, a clinical member of the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists. Dr. Alexander conducts professional and personal training programs throughout the U.S., Canada, Europe, Russia, Australia, and Asia.
