Students at Graduation

Pacifica Graduate Institute is pleased to announce that we have entered into an agreement with the Veteran’s Administration in support of veterans continuing their education under the Post 9/11 GI Bill®.

Pacifica has agreed to provide up to ten Yellow Ribbon Scholarships each year for qualifying veterans under the Post 9/11 GI Bill® on a first-come first-serve basis. Students iM.A. Counseling program will qualify for up to $6,500 per year, M.A. Engaged Humanities and Creative Life will qualify for up to $5,400 per year, and those in the doctoral programs will qualify for up to $7,800 per year.

In turn, the Veteran’s Administration will match the Pacifica Yellow Ribbon Scholarship dollar for dollar for tuition charges resulting in total tuition assistance of up to $13,000 for the M.A. Counseling program, up to $10,800 for the M.A. Engaged Humanities and Creative Life program, and up to $15,600 for the doctoral programs. All tuition assistance from the VA and Pacifica scholarships will be applied toward qualified tuition and fee charges.

Qualifying veterans must provide a copy of the VA Certificate of Eligibility outlining eligibility criteria to the Financial Aid Office. Eligibility for the Yellow Ribbon Program is on a first-come first-serve basis and will be awarded based on the date the Certificate of Eligibility is received from the student. The Financial Aid Office will coordinate enrollment certification with the Registrar’s Office. Once the VA confirms enrollment, funding will be released to Pacifica through automated wire transfer. All funds will be applied directly toward tuition and fee charges.

In addition to the Yellow Ribbon benefits, Post 9/11 veterans may qualify for basic tuition and fee assistance benefits under the Post 9/11 GI Bill®. The amount of tuition and fee assistance available is based on the percentage of eligibility determined by the VA and on the highest tuition and fee rate at a California public institution. The amount of tuition and fee assistance available will be determined by the VA after August 1 each year.
