On Tuesday, March 17th, Dr. Emily Lord-Kambitsch, Assistant Professor and Acting Chair in the Mythological Studies Program will offer a public lecture at the historic bar El Cid in Los Angeles on “Carl Jung: Myth, Shadow, Underworld” via Lectures on Tap, a dynamic lecture series that has been featured in the LA Times and that features engaging scholarship in a convivial atmosphere.

This lecture will trace the development of Swiss psychologist Carl Jung’s approach to personal mythmaking, highlighting how engaging with the unconscious can lead to insight and healing through dialogues with underworld beings.
Dr. Lord-Kambitsch will delve into Jung’s compelling personal narrative and critiques of his own ideas, examining crucial questions: What are the benefits and pitfalls of living in accordance with a personal myth?
