Michele serves as Director of Clinical Training and Adjunct Faculty in the MA Counseling Psychology Program. She teaches Clinical Practice, Group Process and Substance Use Disorders. Michele received her degree from Pacifica in 2006 after a thoroughly different career in finance. She went on to work extensively with clients with substance use and/or considerable mental health problems. In her agency work, Michele worked for a number of years as a case manager at a substance abuse treatment program, managed a dual diagnosis program and supervised MFT and PCC interns. Michele also has a small local private practice, where she sees patients with issues such as insomnia, substance/behavioral/carbohydrate addiction, codependency and trauma. While Michele uses many modalities in her work, including depth psychology, she loves to work with art, story and sand tray. A more recent interest is the emerging field of metabolic therapy for mental health, which has improved outcomes for a number of her clients. She is a Clinical Fellow of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy and a Clinical member of the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists and the Santa Barbara chapter of CAMFT.
