Ryan George

Ryan is a Marriage and Family Therapist, and a Somatic Therapist, based in Santa Barbara, California. From a childhood spent rambling through the majestic redwood forests of northern California, Ryan has been enchanted by the natural world, and drawn to explore the wild and Soulful places within each of us. A dark night of the soul led him to an encounter with Carl Jung’s mysterious and evocative work, which planted a seed, and led to a bachelor’s degree in psychology from U.C. Berkeley. Later, after journeys to far-flung locales, and working for years as a journalist, he obtained a master’s degree in Society and Politics from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. He returned to a rich, in-depth study of Jung and depth psychology, and obtained a master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from the Pacifica Graduate Institute in Santa Barbara. He currently provides psychotherapy and nature-based therapy for clients, that is centered on restoring vitality, Soul retrieval and Posttraumatic growth.
