Tom Steffora (Core Faculty)
Tom Steffora received a commendation from Dignity Health’s Marian Regional Medical Center for services to the medical staff during the time of the COVID-19 pandemic. The services included psychological support to nursing staff during the death of a colleague; emotional first aid to physicians, nurses, and ancillary staff during peak times of COVID-19; counseling physicians involved in critical incidents; and continued day-to-day availability for emotional support to all staff. The commendation stated, “The work you have done and continue to do is positively influencing the mental well-being and mental health of our staff, and it is invaluable”.
