Patricia is founder and director of Capacitar International, a projectin multicultural wellness education that focuses on personal and societal healing and transformation. For 23 years, Pat has worked with thousands of grassroots and professionals throughout 35 countries in the Americas, Europe, Africa, Asia and the Middle East, utilizing a popular education approach to trauma healing in areas affected by poverty, disasters, and domestic and political violence. She has developed programs in "body literacy", involving healing methods and wellness education for psychologists, social workers, teachers, care givers, medical professionals, grassroots leaders, spiritual leaders and people living with HIV/AIDS and other disabilities. She is author of Trauma Healing and Transformation, Capacitar for Kids, Living in Wellness, as well as other Capacitar manuals in different languages (English, Spanish, French, Portuguese, Hebrew, Arabic, Kinyarwandan, Swahili, Setswana and Tetum).
