Step One

Complete and submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form to the Department of Education for processing.  Be sure to include Pacifica's school code (G31268) when completing the form.

The FAFSA is the first step in the financial aid process.  For more detailed information on how to complete the form, click on FAFSA to access the Department of Education web site.  To assist you in completing the FAFSA online, you may want to download the FAFSA Worksheet.

If you have a PIN from the U.S. Department of Education, you can use it to electronically sign your application.  This is the fastest way to submit your application.

If you do not have a PIN, you can apply for one at or you may request a temporary PIN when you complete the FAFSA online.



NEW STUDENTS: financial aid awards are dependent upon admission to an eligible program.  We recommend you begin the financial aid process before you are admitted to Pacifica.

CONTINUING STUDENTS: financial aid awards are dependent upon continued Satisfactory Academic Progress toward your degree requirements.  We recommend you begin the financial aid process in March/April each year.

Step Two

When your FAFSA results have been received, the Financial Aid  Office will determine your eligibility for the Federal Direct Stafford Loan and email you an electronic Award Notification. The Award Notification will direct you to our Financial Aid Online website where you may complete the entire financial aid process online.

Step Three

Once you have logged onto the Financial Aid Online website, you will be instructed to Accept or Decline the awarded Direct Stafford Loans.

 In addition, all new Direct Loan borrowers must complete an online Master Promissory Note (E-MPN) and Entrance Counseling requirements before loan funds will be disbursed.

It important to note that the Direct Stafford Loans do not cover the full tuition and fees. If additional financial assistance is required to help with the balance of direct costs (tuition and fees) in addition to books, and travel expenses, you may consider the Federal Direct Plus Loan. The School's Responsibility

Once you have Accepted the Direct Stafford Loan, completed the E-MPN and Entrance Counseling online, Pacifica's Financial Aid Office will certify and originate your requested loan amount with the U.S. Department of Education for the academic year.

If you have been approved for a Direct Plus Loan and complete the required Plus Master Promissory Note, the Financial Aid Office will certify and originate the requested Direct Plus Loan. 



Each quarter, after your attendance is confirmed, the Direct Stafford Loans and Direct Plus Loans will be released to Pacifica in equal installments.

Pacifica will apply (credit) these loan funds toward current quarter charges (tuition and fees). Please note that the Direct Stafford Loans do not cover the full tuition and fees. You will be responsible for payment of the remaining balance prior to the start of the quarter. Quarterly payment arrangements may be made with the Student Accounts Office.

If you have been approved for a Federal Direct Plus Loan or a Private Alternative Loan to assist with your educational expenses, these funds may create a credit balance on your student accout. If a credit balance exists, the excess funds will be issued to you 14-days after the funds are received. You have the opportunity to receive the refunds (excess payments) by paper check or sign up for direct deposit to your checking or savings account.
